At
the top of this walk there is an orientation table with superb views
over the Aravis, Bargy, Bornes and Baugesbmountain ranges. (Starting
point- les Confins Chapel 1408m: Vertical incline- 325m: Highest
point- Tete du Danay 1731m)
How
to get there:
from La
Clusaz
village (by car or ski bus)
take the road to Les Confins. (there are parking spaces close
to the chapel). Walking Route: From the chapel come back
towards La Clusaz for 150m along the higher road (don't take the
first lane on your right as it is private).
A
road which
then turns into a dirt track leads you to a trail that is quite
steep at the start (4x4 access only for authorised users). Slowly you
will go higher until you reach the mountain pasture known as "Sur
Frete". The track leads into the forest and from there the
summit can be reached easily.
You
can go back down the same way or along different routes that lead
back to La Clusaz, Saint-Jean de Sixt or Le Grand-Bornand (for the
last two villages,
the routes are not marked on the map on the link previously shown on
the 'Walks' page.
