La
Clusaz is your perfect destination for a ski holiday. Mostly
frequented by the French and Swiss weekenders, make this a quieter
and more pleasant resort with plenty of space on the pistes. This
provides a excellent basis for an enjoyable, relaxed and refreshing holiday.
|
La
Clusaz has developed into a major international
resort, but has retained the charm of a genuine French mountain
village. The
pistes at La Clusaz are
spread over five interconnecting mountains (l'Aiguille, Balme,
l'Etale, Beauregard and Manigod) which make it all the more interesting. |
 |
|
An
excellent and reliable Ski Bus service is provided which connects
just about everywhere you need to go. Chalet Bleuet is situated 50m
from 'Les Fiaux' stop on Line D and E. Please follow the links below
for details. |
|
La
Clusaz offers 130km of well maintained
pistes for skiers of all levels. Most of the runs are west or north
west which mean that skiing back to the resort is always possible as
the snow holds well throughout the season. |
 |
|
 |
The
highest skiable runs rise to 2470m in the Col de Balme, in addition
there is a further
90km of pistes in the nearby resort of Le Grand Bornand, rising to

The
best beginners slopes are found at the top of the Beauregard
mountain (1690m), where there are
several green runs including one which take you right back to the village. |
 |
|
 |
Also,
there are long tree-lined
runs from Cret du Merle to La Balme and back to the village, which
make La Clusaz an ideal base for beginners and skiers of mixed
abilities to enjoy together. Le Grand Bornand also offers gentle
slopes at La Joyere, Gettiers and Chinaillon. |
|
Intermediates: |
|
If
you like to ski blues and reds, then La Clusaz offers an excellent
choice especially if the snow conditions are good. l'Etale
and l'Aiguille mountains have wide, challenging blues and reds. The
best snow is ofen found at the top half of these mountains. |
 |
|
The
l'Aiguille (2400m) also offers a non-stop run back to La Clusaz
assuming your legs are up to it! |
|
 |
For
the more adventurous, the
steeper
red slopes, combined with fantastic views and excellent snow of the
north facing Balme mountain, will make it hard to beat. The Snowpark
and Boarder Cross course on l'Aiguille is also well worth a visit. |

every
full moon throughout the winter season, the Cret du Merle chairlift opens

the snowpark, DJ's provide the music, the restaurants on the piste
provide refreshment. |

further information regarding the circuits open at the time of your
visit for a perfect day on the slopes. |
|
Snow-Shoeing: |
|
This
is very popular in the local area, great exercise for non-siers and
a superb way of exploring the mountains
at your own pace. There are designated routes around La Clusaz and
Le Grand Bornand, many of these are tree-lined, next to the cross
country circuits at Lac De Confins and Beauregard Plateau. |
 |
|
 |
Probably
the best way to enjoy snow-shoeing
is to take the cable car to the top of the mountain
and walk back down at your own pace, taking in the beautiful views
and maybe stop off at a suitable restaurant or two for refreshment! |
|
This
is a very enjoyable sport and a great alternative to skiing or
boarding and makes for a very leisurely day. |
